There are way too many crazy cults to recall. Drug-crazed hippies, Manson Family murders, the People's Church of Jim Jones, and the Jonestown Massacre in the jungles of Guyana—the very first drink of the Kool aid moment. And Heaven's Gate, a fanatical religious group that was waiting for a rocket ship to heaven, committed mass suicide in the end. There are many more, like the siege/assault on the David Koresh church of the Davidian’s in wacko Waco, Texas.
All these cults usually include a charismatic leader, multiple murders, mind-altering drugs, sexual abuse, brainwashing, or the ultimate in mind control, mass suicide, but not always. It could be a shootout with the feds. A problem that has its unwelcome place in the culture of personality. Anomalies within modern society. The aberrations in the natural order, flunky fakers involving religious zealots, narcissistic leaders, and impressionable people who follow the teachings of group dynamics and core beliefs. These sheeple are dangerous. Not only to themselves, but to every person in or out of the flock. Here’s to all free thinkers in a fucked-up, fickle world.
Cults aren’t a modern phenomenon. Dating back to the Crusades, Knights of the Templar, even farther back to ancient Roman, and Greek cultures, had cults, religious rituals, and human sacrifice. They were associated with insanity and violence, as inevitably many cults surround themselves with evil and the negative aspect and dark influence that give rise to social disorder and the diabolical hierarchy branded by cult status.
The Spanish Inquisition wasn’t officially a cult, although sanctioned by the Church and the tribunal on heresy, supported by the state. It wasn’t the Dark Ages, but you couldn't tell. The Roman Empire had hundreds of cults. Anything from mystery cults to the cult of the emperors. Throw in some gods like Isis and Orpheus, and you’ll have a bunch of lunatic fringe wannabes vying for a place within whatever group of weirdos you happen to be a member of.
The biggest of all cults is the Third Reich, bringing it all back home for the Nazis under the misunderstood, misguided rule of Hitler and his cronies. Fascism is alive and well. The MAGA movement is the biggest threat to civil liberties and the emergency poison suicide pill of democracy, regardless of race, religion, or the lack thereof, and a variety of sexual genders. Megachurches and asinine billionaires are among the biggest offenders of cult-like devotion. I can't speak for anybody, but if I were the richest person in the world, maybe I'd be doing more altruistic things than flying rockets into space.
The Church of Scientology and the Church of Satan are up there with extreme right-wing evangelicals and the Roman Catholic Church. All organized religion is the culprit in the tax-free status of extreme religions dictating unorthodox political beliefs. Anything from abortion rights to free will. Like a two-headed dog morphed into one fascist doctrine. It's no surprise that half of America is hypnotized. They can't see what's going on. To be woke you must be awake. And half the nation is dreaming.
Tear it down, rip it up, and burn it to the ground. That’s precisely what we face today at home and around the globe. We’re always on the brink of extinction in this effort of trying to be authentic, true human beings, which makes us whole. The ethnic cleansing agenda continues. Across the board, the Middle East, Africa, Russia, China, and North Korea, among many so-called civilized people and naturally Americans, are top performers. In their pursuit of atrocities against humanity, it’s selfish and ignorant to believe one race is superior to another, but it happens all the time.
Knowing too little about the shady shared history of violence against women and children, along with other minorities, isn’t a good idea for having freedom of choice. The illusion of perceived fights and equality is clear everywhere; history repeats itself repeatedly. Too little, too late for the right answer to the wrong questions. But we break through, as we must, to propagate the species of spectacular failures. Alive in a state of suspended insanity, a constant fear of death, and chaos.
It sounds like somebody needs some serious love. Their mother didn’t love them enough, or their father belittled and ridiculed them as a little monster child, grown up into the vengeful dictator. That’s the checkmate endgame looming in a not-so-distant future. Party to the most vile, disgusting people on earth. Their followers are the gatekeepers running the concession stands, waiting for the grand finale of truth and justice for everyone. A real showstopper. Tyrants lack compassion, empathy, decency, and respect for others. They fume and marinate vengeful retribution.
There’s no shortage of brown-nosed boot-licking ass-kissers in the house to give a flying fuck about a single one of that shabby bunch. Take a quick gander at our not-so-illustrious past. If you feel like a sucker, then you most likely are. It’s easy to be sucked into a vortex of cults. Sex and drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll were my favorites in my youth. Anyone or anything could be a cult. How about the cult of poetry? I understand the appeal of being part of something bigger than your head. It’s attractive to think the same group you follow and care for cares about you. It's follow the leader, Simon says, mentality. In a docile herd setting. The rules are: get in line, keep your nose clean, head down, chin up, and always stick to the game plan. Duck and cover your ass, no matter how idiotic or painful. Choose wisely in a cult of one.
