The Austin psych-rock band made their TV debut last night. Phosphene Dream is out 9/14 on Light in the Attic Records.
I've always been a fan of The Black Angels, and saw them once live in Chicago. It was an excellent show. I'm not sure what happened here though. The Adams Family meets Beach Boys riff that repeats endlessly (I swear I've heard that very same riff somewhere before but just can't place it), matched with uninspired lyrics that feel morphine induced makes me question their sobriety when choosing to perform this in front of millions on Letterman.
